The Iconic Motorola Flip Phone is Back, Now Powered by AI

    April 25, 2025

Motorola is once again shaking up the foldable phone market with its latest lineup of Razr devices.

The company has unveiled three new models: the Razr 2025, Razr Plus 2025, and the Razr Ultra 2025. While all three phones have received updates, it’s the Razr Ultra that’s stealing the spotlight.

With AI-powered features, a premium design, and standout upgrades, here’s a closer look at what makes the Razr Ultra one of the top foldable phones of 2025.

    AI-Powered features

The Razr Ultra comes packed with AI capabilities that set it apart from other foldable phones. Motorola has partnered with several companies to bring a variety of AI features into the phone:

    • Moto AI: Offers useful features like “Remember this” (saving photos, notes, and screenshots for easy retrieval later) and “Catch Me Up” (summarizing recent notifications).
    • Perplexity AI: Helps generate useful suggestions and assists in information retrieval.
    • Google Gemini: Personalizes your experience by providing travel recommendations, organizing photos, and more.

These AI tools work seamlessly together to enhance the phone’s functionality and make everyday tasks easier.

The Razr Ultra boasts impressive hardware, including a 50MP main, ultrawide, and selfie cameras for sharp, vibrant photos. It features a 7-inch AMOLED inner display with a 165Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming, along with a 4-inch outer display for quick notifications.

These features position the Razr Ultra as a top contender in the foldable phone market.

    Pricing and Availability

While the Razr Ultra offers a premium experience, it comes with a premium price tag.

    • Razr Ultra 2025: $1,299: The high-end model with all the top features.
    • Razr Plus 2025: $999: A mid-tier foldable phone.
    • Razr 2025: $599: The entry-level Razr option.

The top one may be on the pricier side, but it has advanced AI tools and powerful specs. Preorders begin on May 7, and full availability starts on May 15.

    What’s next for Motorola

The foldable phone market is growing, and Motorola continues to lead with its iconic flip-phone lineup.

Motorola’s use of AI features from Perplexity, Google, and Microsoft sets the Razr Ultra apart from competitors like Samsung and Apple. As the foldable market evolves, Motorola’s continued focus on quality and innovation will likely keep it at the forefront.

    Is it worth it?

The iconic flip phone offers advanced AI features that can elevate how you interact with your device. If you’re looking for a phone that combines cutting-edge technology and a unique design, this could be an exciting option. But, is it the right choice for you?
