    Ubuntu 20.04 LTS termina il supporto: cosa fare ora?

    Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) ha ufficialmente concluso il suo ciclo di supporto standard il 29 maggio 2025, entrando nella fase di Extended Security Maintenance (ESM). Cosa significa questo per gli utenti? E quali sono le opzioni per continuare a ricevere aggiornamenti di sicurezza senza passare subito a una versione più recente?

    Cosa cambia con la fine del supporto standard?

    Dopo 5 anni di aggiornamenti regolari, Ubuntu 20.04 non riceverà più correzioni di bug e patch di sicurezza nel suo archivio principale. Tuttavia, gli utenti possono mantenere la stabilità del sistema con Ubuntu Pro, un abbonamento gratuito per uso personale su un massimo di 5 macchine fisiche.

    Cos’è Ubuntu Pro e come funziona?

    Canonical offre agli utenti la possibilità di estendere il supporto di Ubuntu 20.04 per altri 5 anni (fino al 2030) con Ubuntu Pro. I membri attivi della comunità possono ottenere Ubuntu Pro gratuito per 50 macchine, con benefici come:

    • Livepatching del kernel Linux per maggiore stabilità.

    Aggiornare o restare su Ubuntu 20.04?
