Francisco Bergeret Paves the Way Through Strong Leadership at Perficient

    July 11, 2025

Growth happens when people feel heard, supported, and empowered to lead with purpose. That belief shapes our culture at Perficient, and Francisco Bergeret, a technical architect based in Uruguay, brings it to life through his curiosity, dedication, and strong leadership.

His unique growth path reflects both professional achievement and meaningful impact. Fransico’s authenticity and leadership make him a vital part of our story at Perficient. We recently sat down with him to learn more about what motivates him to live Perficient’s values every day.

How have you grown your career with Perficient?

My career at Perficient has grown organically. I started as a developer and gradually took on more responsibility, eventually becoming a Tech Lead. That transition felt natural as I was already stepping up, bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, and helping align project goals.

A key part of my growth was learning to actively invest in the team’s success. I led efforts to arrange training sessions, secure resources, and ensure new talent was a strong technical and cultural fit. This was crucial for maintaining our project’s identity. Every day brings new opportunities and challenges to learn from, and I developed strong organizational and communication skills that continue to serve me today.

How would you describe your team’s culture and dynamic? What’s a day at the office like?

When I joined Perficient, most of my teammates were based in Chile and Colombia, so being in Uruguay meant fully embracing a remote-first culture. I couldn’t just walk into an office to connect. We built relationships through shared challenges, and later, in-person meetups helped reinforce those bonds.

    Francisco Team

Francisco had the opportunity to meet his team in person during a visit to Medellin.

There’s no single definition of a typical day. One day I might support a release, review a system design, investigate a production issue, or explore a proof of concept. Another day, I might focus on planning—aligning priorities, scoping work, or giving feedback on solutions.

What remains consistent is our team culture: we value transparency, trust, and initiative. People are encouraged to take ownership, speak up, and learn from their mistakes. Most importantly, we focus on understanding client needs and building meaningful, long-term solutions.

How do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?

I try to lead by example by taking ownership wherever I can, even when it’s beyond my formal responsibilities. If something needs attention, I don’t wait for someone else to act. I focus on where I can contribute and follow through. That mindset has helped me build trust across teams and make a meaningful impact beyond my defined role.

For me, leadership also means supporting others. I step in when a teammate needs support, whether it is with making technical decisions, finding root causes, or simply being present. Over time, I’ve learned to balance problem-solving with offering fresh perspectives. Making a difference often comes down to showing up, being available, and saying “yes,” even when it’s outside your comfort zone.

What advice would you give to colleagues who are starting their career with Perficient?

Perficient offers many opportunities for growth—whether through learning programs, hands-on experience, or getting involved in different projects and initiatives. You can shape your career in a way that’s meaningful to you by following your interests and staying open to new challenges. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.

Most importantly, build connections. Our people bring diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and those relationships often lead to unexpected opportunities. Be curious, ask questions, and grow through collaboration—it’s one of the best ways to lead your own development journey.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Francisco Basketball TeamOutside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends—whether it’s going out, playing games, or simply having a good conversation. I also love watching movies and TV series, reading, and staying active through sports—especially basketball, which has always been my lifelong passion.

    Francisco Pets

People are often surprised to learn that I was on the roster of a professional basketball team in Uruguay’s third division. I didn’t play, but the team won the championship and was promoted that season. One day, I’ll tell my grandkids I was a champion, maybe leaving out a few details. I even kept the newspaper photo to prove it.

I spend a lot of time with my two dachshunds, Simón and Luka. They grew beside me as I worked, and they have become familiar faces on video calls. These everyday moments bring a sense of joy and connection, even during the busiest weeks.
